Collaborative documentation of Cody Magee's graduating BFA show.
This is more of a document than a documentary. I wanted to do something to collaborate with Cody. We were hanging out a lot in his studio at the time, and I really enjoyed seeing his process and thought it would be nice to film some of it. I spent several weeks filming, up through the installation and opening of the show. The concepts grew organically. Cody had drafted up some writing that he was considering displaying with his pieces. He decided against showing it, but I asked if he could read it aloud to narrate the video. I also thought it'd be nice to film some of his pieces out in the woods, a context close to their source, so we did some of that too.
This was such a joy and a pleasure to make. I'm honored to have collaborated and held the documentation of this important show.
